LAND DEFILED-ANCESTOR DEFIED
We are all part of a process over which we have no control. Slaves or victims of ritual murder their curses, and the desecrations of the Land (in the past and by our contemporaries) contribute to the factors shaping our fortune now. Some believe eroneiouly, that idols offer them protection and immunity against retribution to violate the land. The Prophecy (explained in this Book) is part of these.
The spiritual predators were to be prevented from defiling the Land with impunity. Our goal must be to enlist ourselves in the constitution of such colleges of custodians; or reform where it exists in limbo.
The land is the mother of us all. Hence, one may justifiably be referred to as a son/daughter of the soil. We talk of mother earth. The land has eyes known to the college of custodians or the MASQUERADE (Masquerade as explained under “Masquerade” below). The eye is in the Ebo of the relevant community. A person who commits suicide for example, by hanging himself anywhere on the land has committed an abomination against the Land. (I have never heard of a “she” committing suicide; I do not know anyone who knows someone that knows that any female person committed suicide ever — not in recent history and not in legend.) The “Land” denotes the community. A forest where he hung himself being part of the Land must be purified. The Land (and the inhabitants) is cursed until certain rituals were performed to remove it. He has defiled the Land by being guilty of polluting the community. Land therefore often stands for the “personality”, the ethos of the community as a whole.
The rules of the Land are based on the Universal Golden rule (UGR). I extrapolated it from different common metaphors in our culture. I have put it in a form that it could be taught and discussed as follows:
“Commit only those acts, which if everyone were to join you to engage in would increase the good of all”. OR “Be not guilty of any event, which if others were to copy and join in perpetuating would increase the suffering of all or would bring deserter”. I did not invent the Rule. It has been part of the human ethos with every community striving implicitly at conforming to it, even when not articulated.
How is the Land defiled? A person who created Ebo or other devices or means that are aimed at causing national calamities (calamities as conceptualized either by the relevant communities or by the Spiritual Sovereign) attracts sanctions from the custodians as having defiled the Land.
Those who defile the Land accordingly would include those who engaged in incest (as sexual intercourse between a man and a daughter, or any girl “that calls him father”; this could be the case of adopted girls or step daughters; a woman dares not seduce a son or any male “that calls her mother” including adopted boys and stepsons). Destroying yams stored in barns is a defilement of the Land when someone cuts them into pieces during conflicts for example; stealing seedlings that had been planted is also a crime against the community. Arson is a defilement of the Land. Removing the animal caught by someone else’s trap without his approval is an abomination against the Land. To fish in the river when the community has prohibited it is a transgression against the Land because the rivers are part of the Land. Fishing is sometimes prohibited to avoid over fishing (including over-whaling). This also applies to harvesting crops out of seasons, or hunting endangered species. Maltreatment of orphans, widows, and the weak, victimizing or intimidating them belongs to acts of defilement of the Land. Poisoning or polluting the soul or spirit of anyone who goes to a chief priest (or the like) for initiation or spiritual help is a defilement of the land. So is psychic abuse. Defilement of the Land has become the rule rather than the exception! This has brought a curse on humankind in general and our race in particular. This we must now undo by becoming the authority for the propagation and sustenance of the UGR in all its ramifications.
